Presently, there are 790 workers and 198 technicians of them. there are 132 engineering technicians occupying 25% among the staff. In 1998, The fixed assets of our factory reached 53.73 millions RMB, total value of production reached 87.66 millions RMB with 21% growth to the preceding year, products sold with the value of 77.02 millions RMB and profit reached 6 millions RMB.
Our factory established technology center employing continuously technicians to develop new products since Chinese economic reform, and appointed to be the local technology center last year. Modem pattern of CIMS computer integrated manufacture system was formed by CAD computer auxiliary design-NC digital machine tool manufacture--MRP II network management. Therefore the development of new product was highly accelerated. All of the products have been renewed since 1994 and these products have reached a coverage of 90% in domestic market, and also being exported to more than 40 countries such as US, Spain, UK, Pakistani, Japan and so on. The technical school run by the factory adopted German educational model of "dual system"and cultivated a good many workers who have been the majority and played a vital role in the operation. Our factory has been appointed of IOL-MAKING base by the State Health Ministry, China Fund for the Handicapped and Lion Clubs International in the action of "Sight First, China Action". in 1998. We have defined the management principle of "Serving for Ophthalmology", the administration principle of "Development upon Science Emphasis", the enterprise soul of "Serving for Ophthalmology, Creating the First-rate in this World" and the management idea of "Satisfy Clients". Suzhou Medical Instrument General Factory is designated by the
state as medical ophthalmic apparatus and instruments manufacturer, and being one of the
second best class factories of the conutry. It was appraised as one of the 50 biggest
medical enterprise twice successively in China.
Our products with 162 types and 500 specifications can
be divided into 4 kinds of intraocular lenses, surgical instruments, optical diagnostic
instruments and electronic treatment apparatus concentrated optical, machinery,
electricity and micro technology. Significant product of slit lamp achieved golden prize
of national quality; operation microscope series and micro surgical instrument set series
achieved silver prize of national quality. Intraocular lenses achieved national
certificate of new product. At the beginning of 1998, our factory obtained the quality
system certification of ISO9001 by DNV.
