WUXI TOOLS & MEASURING INSTRUMENT WORKS is specialized in manufacturing measuring instruments. The works mainly produces various vernier calipers within sizes of 0-1000mm, electronic digital calipers within sizes of 0-500mm, dial calipers within sizes of 0-300mm, universal bevel protractors of 0-360¡ã, various outside micrometers within sizes of 0-100mm, straight edges, squares 90¡ã, ma- chine tools and instruments, etc. It possesses production capacity of manufacturing 1,000,000 products of different types annually.

The works has a long history, and a strong technical force in manufacturing measuring instruments. Its products have reached the international first-class level. It elec- tronic digital calipers won the first in the national comparison of same trade in 1991, and won the golden medal on 95' National New Technology New Products Fair. The prod- ucts have a ready market throughout the country and far sold to over thirty countries and regions in Europe, America, Southeast Asia, etc. Since 1987, the product output, foreiqn exchange earning of export have been among the first of the same trade of the country.

The works was awarded the credit titles of "Advanced Enterprise in Foreiqn Exchange Earning of Export", "Double civilization Enterprise", "Star Entrerprise" by the Mechanical and Electrical Export office under the State Council, and provincial or municipal government. In 1995, it won the title of "The National 1000 Advanced Enterprises in Exporting and Foreign Exchange Earning". And in 1994, it was given the exporting right for selfmanagement permit- ted by national foreign economy and trade ministry. The works now has been a member of the council of National Tools Industry Association.
